Rehabilitation of this 1840 Greek Revival courthouse—a National Historic Landmark and the oldest still functioning parish courthouse in Louisiana. The scope of work included removal of the non-historic first floor concrete slab and hard Portland cement stucco on the interior & exterior, followed by repairs to brick load bearing walls, restoration of wood floors on wood joists and lime plaster on both the exterior and the interior of the brick walls. Interior finishes were restored based on documented historic colors. All HVAC, electrical and life safety systems were replaced. An extensive collection of existing antique furnishings and casework was restored. State of the art courtroom AVV systems were carefully integrated into the historic courtroom.
